Nurturing Young Hearts and Minds: Our Christ-Centered Children's Ministry

Our children’s ministry aims to support parents in educating their children about the identity of Jesus, so that they mature in their understanding of Him and eventually become more like Him. To accomplish this objective, we offer enjoyable, Christ-centered activities and chances for children ranging from nursery age through 5th grade.

Age-Based Class Placement at First United Methodist Church of Austell

What to Expect – First United Methodist Church of Austell adheres to the age requirements set by the local public schools for our classes. The child’s age on September 1 of the current school year determines their placement. For example, a child must be 4 on or before September 1 to participate in 4K and 5 on or before September 1 to enroll in Kindergarten. All children remain in their respective age levels until Promotion Sunday in August, at which point they advance together as a group to the next level.

Engaging Children in Faith

Our Children’s Sunday school is conducted by volunteers who have received safe sanctuary training and undergone background checks. These volunteers are dedicated to teaching our children about God’s love and the life of Jesus. Children engage in scripture lessons through Bible stories, hands-on activities, age-appropriate games, and lively discussions. Our curriculum is designed to be engaging and includes activities that help families grow in faith together. Children’s Sunday school is held on (add location) and is divided into the following age groups: · Sunday Sparks: 4-year-olds · K1 Connection: Kindergarten and 1st-grade students · Circuit 23: 2nd and 3rd-grade students · Power 45 Sunday School: 4th and 5th-grade students In addition, 4th and 5th-grade students are welcome to participate in the Power 45 Bible Study on Sunday Nights. They can come together once a month on Sunday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 pm for a time of fun, fellowship, and spiritual growth.
